Cape Town weather. Eish it hasn't been pleasant weather here in Cape Town (except for those who love the rainy, icy weather). This led me to slacking in the exercise regime, so I thought I would accumulate all the best shots that I took whilst hiking and running to inspire myself and everyone around me again.
I have always been in love with drink trolleys and the decanters that goes on top of it! My mom had her mothers trolley and I begged her to give it to me. She said that I could borrow it for a while. I placed it next to my couch with some magazines, my Gran's Chinese checkers and a plant. I left it like that for a while. My sister sent me a pin on Pinterest and I looked through a collection of images of drink trolley examples which inspired me to reorganise mine. You can have a look at the post here.
These are the images that inspired me:
It was a rainy day and I was looking for something to do with my father. I went onto Foursquare and found a list called Heritage Walk. Have a look at it here. Number 15 Chavonnes Battery and Auditorium looked quite cool, so thought we should go. My dad was stoked with this and he came to pick me up and off we went. We parked in the Clock Tower buildings parking. Then we stopped at vida e caffe for a warm cup of coffee and then went to the Chavonnes Battery and Auditorium.
Adults pay R25 a head, and South African pensioners R20. Children 10-18 pay R10. My dad loved checking out the museum and I found it quite interesting too. It's a fun activity to do as a couple or a family. Here's some more info that I grabbed from here:
I have 2 x purple mugs from Clicks and 3 x white mugs from Mr Price in my home to use for hot beverages. Anyone who knows me will know that I have a slight obsession with making sure that either everything matches or that I have a few of the same item. I have no miss matched cutlery or crockery. Any glass that's odd gets given away. I have been frustrated about my mug situation, as I was left with a few mugs that's survived out of two different sets. This doesn't make me happy.
So I have been looking for over a year for cool mugs in local home ware stores. I also want them at a reasonable price, as mugs can break quickly and it's not really something I want to spend a lot of money on. In this year I haven't found anything remotely close to what I had in mind. I don't like the generic mug and the shape of the mug is very important to me too. It shouldn't be too big or too small. It should be a cool design and I should be stoked to drink my coffee out of these mugs every day.
So I have been looking for some mugspiration on Pinterest and found the following that lead me to the idea of getting a whole lot of miss matched mugs with edgy / vintage designs on.
August has actually not been raucous for me at all, on the contrary it's been very relaxed. I've had these beats to keep me company through out the month and want to share my August Natsnotfazed monthly mix with you.
I got my hands on some new bands that I haven't heard of before. I love discovering new bands. They are The Black Angels, Vampire Weekend, The Head and the heart and Gun Outfit. Try not to be put off by the name of Vampire Weekend and give them a chance. I really like them. Also love The Head and the Heart. I'm still working through these albums, so you will probably get some of their other songs in my future mixes.
RTD is coming closer and I thought it would be good to include my five favourite songs of Alt-J in the mix, as they will be playing at the festival. I just want to make sure that I know the words and can sing along when they play! Haha!
