Kick starting summer - fly a kite and braai a broodjie

As some of you might know, I started the Social Club about a year ago and we had plenty of wonderful events which you should check out here.  We wanted our male friends to join us too and then we had these two amazing events to kick start the summer.

The first event was called "Let's go fly a kite" where we all met up at Oudekraal Beach and each group built kites from scratch.  We also braaied, swam and had so much fun!  Here's a few pictures from the day, but go have a look at the the event here.

Marrying old and new - my vintage fixation

I have always had a modern vintage fixation with objects.  I was super privileged to inherit my granny's emboya couches. They looked like this when I got them:



I got some material printed which I told you guys about before. Then I didn't know how I was going to pay for the upholstery, but I saved money and towards the end of last year I had enough.

I absolutely love this yellow and grey print. I think it's a beautiful marriage between old and new. So here's the finished project!

Patio Bench - Soaking up T-mount and chasing sunsets

You live in Cape Town, because it's central, it's where everything happens, it's cool and happening.  It's all these things and more, but the truth is I miss having a backyard and a place to chill.  I love my apartment, but it lacked a backyard.  It did have a balcony with potential though. (There's hope!)  Here's what my balcony looked like when I moved in:
