30 Tentacles Beach Party

Dirty Thirty's can't believe that I would be 30 one day.  My one friend from school send me a Facebook message the other day where she said that she enjoys reading my blog and I looked at the last message we sent each other and it was from me.  I said: Chick, why are you going to a 30th Birthday party, which grandpa do you know that is 30 years old?  Haha and then I was 25. Crazy!

I love the beach and thought it is a perfect location to have my 30th Birthday.  It was quite a mission to get everything down to the beach and I must say thanks to my friends for helping me, as I would not have been able to do it without them.

I started a Pinterest board for inspiration and ideas for the beach party, you can have a looksee here.

I had the party at Bali beach which is between Bakoven and Camps Bay beach.  Everybody commented on the location of what a jewel it is.

Social Club #7 - Feisty SeƱoritas

I have known Marli for about 15 years, we spent our December holidays at the same place called Arniston.  After school, everybody did their own thing and I didn't holiday with my parents anymore.  So we didn't really stay in touch.  When I started the Social Club about 7 months ago, I thought it would be great to invite her, as we both stay in town and we became much closer since!

I went to Marli earlier the evening to help with the preparations and she was very impressed with my skills in the kitchen, she even said I am an efficient sous chef!! Haha!

Pastel Blue Dining Room Table

For those of you who don't know me, I studied interior decorating a while ago, but never got around to work in the field.  Except once when I assisted on a Garden & Home decor shoot.  That was a lot of fun.  I have always had a passion for interiors and spaces.  I remember walking around on my grandfathers farm in Rawsonville and looking at the old cars and fridges that was standing outside and think how I will take the door of the fridge and make it an actual door to my kitchen.  I also imagined taking the retro car door and mounting it in the wall and then you can manually turn the window open and close.  I have always been a dreamer, but lately my dreams are becoming a reality.

I have been lucky enough to have inherit some of my grandmothers furniture.  I dig mixing old with new.  These are the emboya ball and claw couches which I am in the process of upholstering.  More about that later.

Easy Sunday Whole Roast Chicken

You know when you just crave something out of the blue, well it happened to me yesterday and it was whole roast chicken.  I was eager to try out my brand spanking new Le Creusett dish which I got from my sister for my birthday recently.

I decided to spend the Sunday in my house to get my house in order, as I have been gallivanting the last two weeks and an unorganised house makes me feel uneasy.  They say a tidy house is a tidy mind and that's so true!  The weather outside was magnificent though and I must say I was tempted to jump in my car and go to the beach, especially as I have a new bikini I want to show off before summer is over!  But there will be other gorgeous days.
